  • Red onion (¼ cup, thinly sliced)  you can skip this if you don’t like. Used for color and mild flavour.
  • Garlic (2 cloves, minced)  for a stronger savory flavor.
  • Olive oil (2 tablespoons)  used for roasting vegetables.
  • Dried oregano (1 teaspoon)  enhances herbal flavor.

  • Ground black pepper (¼ teaspoon) for spicy flavour.
  • Fresh spinach (1–2 cups, optional)  used for freshness. You can skip it too.
  • Fresh basil (¼ cup, optional)  for garnishing. It gives a fresh herbal finish.
  • Red pepper flakes (¼ teaspoon, optional)  for a little spicy kick.
  • Grated Parmesan (¼ cup, optional)  for extra cheesy and savory flavor

How to Make Boursin Cheese Pasta Step by Step

1. Cook the Pasta

First, boil water in a large pot. Add some kosher salt and farfalle pasta. Cook the pasta until it is tender but still a little firm. Before draining, save some pasta water. Then drain the pasta and set it aside.

2. Prepare the Boursin and Vegetables

Next, heat the oven and take a baking dish. Put the Boursin Garlic & Fine Herbs cheese in the center.

Add the cherry tomatoes, red onion, and garlic around the cheese. Then, drizzle olive oil over them.

Sprinkle dried oregano, kosher salt, and black pepper on top. If you want some heat, add the red pepper flakes too.

3. Bake the Boursin Mixture

Place the baking dish in the oven. Bake until the Boursin cheese melts and the cherry tomatoes become soft.

4. Make the Creamy Sauce

Take the dish out of the oven. Mix the melted Boursin cheese with the tomatoes, onion, and garlic.

Gently press some tomatoes with a spoon. Their juices will mix with the Boursin and make a creamy sauce.

5. Add the Spinach

If you are using fresh spinach, add it to the warm sauce. Stir until the spinach becomes soft.

6. Add the Pasta

Add the cooked farfalle pasta to the creamy sauce. Mix everything well so the sauce covers the pasta.

If the sauce is too thick, add a little reserved pasta water and mix again.

7. Garnish and Serve

Finally, add fresh basil and grated Parmesan if you are using them.

Mix gently and serve the Boursin cheese pasta while it is warm.

Tips for the Best Results

Choose the right pasta: Short pasta such as farfalle, fusilli, rotini, or penne works well with creamy Boursin pasta because the sauce can coat the pasta easily.

Balance the flavors: Boursin cheese already has a rich garlic and herb flavor. Therefore, taste the creamy Boursin sauce before adding more seasoning.

Keep the sauce creamy: If your Boursin pasta sauce feels too thick, add a small amount of reserved pasta water at a time. This helps create a smooth sauce without making it watery.

Go easy on Parmesan: Grated Parmesan adds extra cheesy and savory flavor. However, too much can make the pasta taste too salty.

Adjust the heat: Red pepper flakes are optional, so adjust the amount according to your taste. Start with a small amount if you do not like very spicy pasta.

Serve it fresh: Boursin cheese pasta tastes best when served warm. The creamy sauce is at its best when it is freshly mixed with the pasta.

Keep the garnish simple: A little fresh basil gives the creamy pasta a fresh herbal finish without overpowering the Boursin cheese.

What to Serve With Boursin Cheese Pasta

Boursin cheese pasta is creamy and rich, so light and fresh side dishes work well with it. Here are some easy options:

  • Green salad: A simple green salad adds a fresh and crunchy contrast to the creamy pasta.
  • Garlic bread: Crispy garlic bread pairs well with the creamy Boursin sauce. You can also use it to scoop up any extra sauce.
  • Roasted vegetables: Roasted broccoli, zucchini, or bell peppers add vegetables and a different texture to the meal.
  • Green beans: Steamed or roasted green beans make a light side dish for this rich pasta.
  • Fresh baguette: A warm baguette is another simple option for enjoying the extra Boursin pasta sauce.

These sides keep the meal balanced without taking attention away from the creamy Boursin pasta.

Can I Add Chicken to Boursin Cheese Pasta?

Yes, you can add chicken to this Boursin cheese pasta if you want more protein. Chicken also works well with the creamy garlic and herb sauce.

For the best result, cook the chicken separately with a little salt and black pepper until it is fully cooked. Then, cut it into small pieces and mix it with the finished Boursin pasta.

You can also use grilled or roasted chicken. Add it at the end so the chicken stays tender and the creamy sauce coats it well.

Tip: Since chicken is not part of the main recipe, keep it as an optional addition. This way, readers can enjoy the original creamy Boursin pasta or add chicken according to their preference.
